Jeff Bezos created Amazon to sell books. Before he decided to sell everything else. His platform was all about what readers wanted: easy access to books of all stripes. And now, through Author Websites by BookBub, we’ve come full circle to what writers want (what they really, really want): a website for writers that doesn’t require a degree in computer programming, physics, or a mathematical understanding of the laws of gravity.
After years, and many dollars, of struggling with established hosting platforms, I’ve finally found the Holy Grail. BookBub is a website where readers can find bargain books. The service is free to subscribers. Now, they’ve created Author Websites by BookBub. And it’s almost free at less than $10 a month.
This web hosting site is like all those books written for Dummies without actually having to read the book and do the thing. It does all the work except write your book. Are you an author with a book on Amazon? (And whose book isn’t on Amazon?) Sign up for Authors Websites by BookBub and your entire site is completely constructed for you with a few clicks of the mouse. Seriously.
After many years of paying for but not actually having a functioning website, I now have one that is a thing of beauty. Everything about it works. Have a new book coming out? Type in the title and the platform pulls all the information (cover, reviews, release date—whatever) and your site is instantly updated with working links and a beautiful design.
Say bye-bye to all those platforms that make building a page a frustrating week long process of trial and error. If you just want to showcase your books, advertise them, grow your audience, this is the place for you. We'll save the solution to Pi for another day.
